When Penny Gibson and her daughter Candice Johnson decided to bring their sister companies together, they wanted the brand to reflect their journey and values—not just a merger.

Zera focuses on payroll, helping businesses run smoothly with a foundation of trust and care. The name “Zera” means seed—a symbol of growth and what they’re building together. The two-leaf icon represents Penny and Candice, and the lowercase wordmark reflects their approachable nature.

For Zera’s color palette I chose, a gradient with soft blues and deep violets.
